Hello everyone! If you haven’t heard, I will be organizing you all into “accountability groups” based on your specific goals. I am SO excited to announce the coaches that will be helping lead these groups! They will also play an integral role in getting all of you the specific nutrition and exercise guides you will all receive, content creation, product development and weekly emails. Take a look and welcome them! 🙂
Anna Catherine Wass, Coach
An incoming Senior at Gonzaga University, I am studying Communications with a minor in Sociology. Growing up I played club soccer and competitively Irish danced, instilling in my life the importance of being active. When I stopped playing sports, I found that my passion for healthy living continued as I transitioned into exercising on my own. I am very passionate about proper nutrition and invested in promoting wellness through the food we eat. If you know anything about me, you know my deep love and appreciation for peanut butter. My favorite “healthy” meal is toasted Ezekiel bread spread wit
h peanut butter and sprinkled with cinnamon and hemp seeds. I have a major sweet tooth and when I’m looking for a cheat meal it would be dessert in the form of a warm chocolate chip cookie skillet with vanilla ice cream on top. My to-go and favorite exercise is running, yet I am trying to incorporate more strength and conditioning into my regimen.
Michael Ikenna Arinze, Coach
Hello, my name is Michael Arinze. I am 22 years old and was born and raised in the iconic San Diego, CA. Being from a city surrounded by beaches and individuals striving to have beach bodies all year round, I was able to implement a few beneficial methods to my daily routine to help me consistently reach my fitness goals. Much of my philosophy of getting the perfect body includes getting that healthy balance of fruits and veggies. Don’t get me wrong, I do have a slice of pepperoni pizza here and there on a cheat day, but make sure to get right back to work the next day! Working out consistently also carries great importance. No gym, but no excuses! I have not lifted a weight in years and maintained a phenomenal level of fitness and you can too. With that being said, let’s buckle up and get ready to hit the beach!
Dallas Haupt, Coach
My name is Dallas Haupt. I am a 22 year old collegiate student athlete, majoring in Exercise and Nutritional Science and playing basketball. Outside of school, I train younger athletes with their strength and movement development. I also am an international model, having traveled around the world working for many big clients. One of my favorite healthy meals is a bowl of grilled chicken, brown rice, and steamed vegetables. My favorite cheat meal is to indulge in a nice Hawaiian pizza. My favorite type of exercise is a circuit workout. With a circuit, the time is set so you know exactly how long the workout is going to be and it also helps with your endurance with minimal breaks in between each station.
Kat Caldwell, Coach
My name is Katherine Caldwell and I am studying Entrepreneurship through the Business School at Gonzaga University. My fitness background begins with cheerleading, gymnastics and dance classes, but began to warp into weight lifting when I realized how cool strong looks. I taught myself how to lift in my basement by watching videos and continued to seek guidance at my high school football teams’ after school weight training sessions where I found a forever passion. My favorite cheat meal is definitely a good bacon burger and fries, but I can also dig into a post-workout protein shake with equal enthusiasm. My favorite type of exercise changes all the time, but I love the diversity and consistency I have found with dumbbells, no matter what gym I go to or which muscle group I am trying to hit.
Cassie Bourland, Coach
Hi! My name is Cassandra Bourland, but you can call me Cassie. A little about myself: I am currently a senior at Gonzaga University studying Biochemistry and minoring in German. I teach spin classes at the school gym and absolutely love it (seriously, nothing better). In my free time, I love to enjoy a really good cup of coffee at a local shop and people watch. I also love being outdoors: biking, shooting, hiking, four-wheeling, fishing. I played soccer my entire life starting at the age of four-years-old. Due to serious injury, I unfortunately had to stop playing. Before then, weight lifting wasn’t my thing because soccer consumed all of my time. After my injury, I wasn’t able to exercise for almost 8 months which really put a toll on my body. I thought I could eat the same (which wasn’t true because I wasn’t exercising) and I was honestly confused as to what to do with myself now that soccer wasn’t a part of the picture. I gained weight, a lot of it, and had to do something about it. I couldn’t live with that version of myself. I started to get into Crossfit (I know, I know), which gave me insight to weight lifting. I learned how to do a variety of exercises that I could incorporate into the gym. I also took a weightlifting class my senior year of high school that helped with putting workouts together. Since then, I have pretty much done my own thing as far as working out/ making workouts/eating. There are still things I want to change and things I can improve, but being happy with yourself is so important while going through this journey. My favorite cheat meal has to be crispy chicken salads from Red Robin. I’d kill for it. My favorite healthy meal is probably ground turkey soft tacos. I have mastered the recipe for some yummy tacos. My favorite type of exercise.. That’s hard. For legs, I would have to say either hip thrusts or leg press. For upper body, I love flyes (reverse or bent) and cable work.
Christian Richardson, Coach
I’m Christian Richardson, I’m 21 years old and was born and raised in Yakima Washington. I grew up skiing 3-4 days a week and spent my high school years competing in the International Freeski Tour. During the off season I spent my time mountain biking in Sun Valley or longboarding the backroads of Yakima. I’ve spent over 6 years in the gym and recently received my certification in personal training. I was raised by a vegan mother and hunter father, which gave me a wide variety of quality food choices. My favorite healthy meal is brown rice, lentils, salmon and veggies mixed in a bowl. My favorite cheat meal is anything Mexican. I generally focus on lifting for hypertrophy and some cardio to prepare myself for biking/skiing.
Kara McCracken, Coach
My name is Kara McCracken and I graduated from SDSU in May of 2017 with a degree in Foods and Nutrition. I just finished my dietetic internship with an emphasis on Sports Nutrition and I am currently studying to take the exam to become a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist. I did competitive gymnastics for 12 years and competitive, high school, and college cheerleading. I am very passionate about health and fitness.
My favorite healthy meal is overnight oats with peanut butter and frozen blueberries and my favorite cheat meal is ice cream with reeses peanut butter cup. My favorite exercise is hot yoga.
